growing older, getting wiser
the Texas sun is unforgiving. It desecrated my little mint plant. I thought all was lost. I decided not to give up hope just yet and started giving it more doses of water than I normally would. Today when I inspected the plant, I noticed that among the dried leaves, new leaves were growing. These new leaves actually look much better than the leaves before. They have also grown very quickly. It seems like another metaphor for my life has been found in nature. All of my past ways of seeing life has shriveled in the sun. My former perception did not survive my travels and experiences. But all is not lost. Something new is growing in me that is much stronger than before. My roots have dug deeper and my pedals are much greener. I am grateful for the sun and the heat in my life that has changed the way I see all things.
